IndiGo and other airlines operating at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) are undergoing significant changes due to maintenance work at Terminal 2 (T2) and the full-scale operationalization of Terminal 1 (T1).
Terminal Reassignments
IndiGo Airlines: Effective April 15, 2025, IndiGo will cease operations at T2, with all flights transitioning to T1 and Terminal 3 (T3). This shift is a result of T2 undergoing maintenance to enhance passenger facilities. Previously, IndiGo had resumed partial operations from T1 in September 2024, with specific flight numbers assigned to T1 and T3.
Akasa Air: Akasa Air, which primarily operated from T2, will now conduct all its flights from T1. This transition aligns with the airport’s efforts to streamline operations during T2’s maintenance period.
Terminal 1 Enhancements
Terminal 1 has undergone significant upgrades as part of the Phase 3A expansion project, aiming to accommodate the increased passenger load resulting from T2’s temporary closure. The enhancements include:
