The Congress has branded Narendra Modi’s government as the “paper leak government,” questioning whether the education minister would take responsibility for the recent developments.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized the Centre over the UGC-NET 2024 cancellation, demanding accountability.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge stated, “Narendra Modi ji, you often discuss exams, but when will you hold ‘NEET pareeksha pe charcha’? The cancellation of the UGC-NET exam is a victory for the determination of lakhs of students. It represents the defeat of the Modi government’s arrogance, which attempted to undermine the future of our youth.
Kharge also pointed out that the Union education minister initially denied any NEET paper leaks, but following the arrests of education mafia members in Bihar, Gujarat, and Haryana, the minister acknowledged some irregularities. “When will the NEET exam be cancelled?” he questioned.
“Modi ji, take responsibility for stopping your government’s rigging and paper leaks in the NEET exam as well,” Kharge added.
The Congress further alleged that the Modi government was jeopardizing the future of the youth.
“Yesterday, the UGC-NET exam was conducted in various cities across the country. Today, the exam was cancelled on suspicion of a paper leak. First, it was the NEET paper, and now the UGC-NET paper,” they stated.

Reacting sharply to the cancellation of the examination, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused the BJP government of “corruption and laxity,” stating that it is detrimental to the youth.
“After the news of a scam in the NEET exam, now the NET exam held on June 18 has also been cancelled due to fears of irregularities. Will accountability be fixed now? Will the Education Minister take responsibility for this negligence?” Priyanka Gandhi asked in a post in Hindi.
Amid the controversy surrounding the NEET exam, the Union education ministry ordered the cancellation of the UGC-NET and handed the matter over to the CBI for investigation.
Additionally, the ministry sought a report from the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit regarding alleged irregularities in the conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG) 2024 in Patna and stated that further action would be taken based on the findings of the report.
