Nushrratt Bharuccha Opens Up About Facing Judgment for Her Faith and Attire
Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has recently addressed the online criticism she faces regarding her attire during temple visits and her personal beliefs. In a candid interview with Shubhankar Mishra, she emphasized that such negativity does not deter her from practicing her faith and living authentically.
Nushrratt shared that her faith is deeply personal and real to her. She believes that experiencing unreal situations has only strengthened her belief. She stated, “That’s why I’m still connected, still strong, and I know I have to follow this path.” She further expressed that peace can be found in various places of worship, whether it’s a mandir, gurudwara, or church, and that she prays namaz five times a day when possible, even carrying her prayer mat while traveling. She has always believed in one God and different paths to connect with Him.
Despite facing online scrutiny over her appearance and beliefs, Nushrratt remains unfazed. She mentioned that when she posts pictures, people question her faith based on her clothes, asking, “What kind of Muslim is she?” However, she handles such criticism just like any other, stating that it doesn’t change her or stop her from visiting temples or praying namaz. She believes that when one is clear in their thoughts, spirit, and mind, no one can shake them.
Nushrratt’s latest film, Chhorii 2, directed by Vishal Furia, was released on Prime Video earlier this month. The film explores themes of folklore, gender disparity, and a mother’s devotion to her daughter. It continues the story of Sakshi, portrayed by Nushrratt, as she battles a dangerous cult to protect her child. The film also stars Soha Ali Khan, Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, and others.
Through her personal experiences and professional choices, Nushrratt Bharuccha continues to challenge societal norms and advocate for the freedom to practice one’s faith and express oneself authentically.
