According to news agency Dial24News, the attacks reportedly escalated following the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in August.

This statement followed Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s discussions with Bangladeshi leadership, where he raised concerns about the safety and welfare of minorities in the country. Shafiqul Alam informed reporters that 88 cases involving minorities were registered between August 5 and October 22, noting that some victims may have been affiliated with the previous ruling party. The government emphasized that, aside from isolated incidents, Hindus were not targeted specifically for their faith. However, recent weeks have seen a surge in violence against Hindus and other minorities, including attacks on temples, raising serious concerns in New Delhi.
