At a press conference, BJP MP Sambit Patra labeled Rahul Gandhi as a “traitor of the highest order.” In response, the Congress on Friday filed a privilege motion against BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Sambit Patra over their remarks targeting Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
We have filed a privilege motion against BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Sambit Patra. Today, we sought a ruling from the Speaker, but the Question Hour was adjourned. Despite the motion, the individual in question was allowed to speak in Parliament once again,” stated a Congress representative.
This is part of a conspiracy to disrupt Parliament and avoid discussions on the Adani issue. They are running scared,” alleged a Congress leader.
Centre Trying to Suppress Opposition Moves’: Congress
Congress MP KC Venugopal also criticized the Centre, stating, “The government is displaying a bulldozing attitude to suppress the Opposition. Yesterday, a member made derogatory remarks against the Leader of the Opposition and another Congress member within the House.”
Venugopal further noted, “Outside Parliament, another member made offensive comments. The Congress party has filed a privilege motion against both leaders. Yet, while we are raising complaints about such remarks, the same member was allowed to repeat their actions today. The Speaker is clearly under immense pressure from the government.
