Haryana Influencer and Her Lover Accused of Murdering Husband, Dumping Body in Drain
In a chilling incident that has stunned the social media community and local residents alike, a 32-year-old social media influencer from Haryana has been arrested, along with her alleged lover, for the murder of her husband. The case, unfolding in Hisar district, reveals a grim tale of infidelity, deception, and a brutal crime hidden behind curated reels and online fame.

The accused, Raveena, a resident of Joodi village in Rewari, had built a modest but growing presence on social media platforms, particularly Instagram and YouTube, where she posted short-form dance videos and collaborative content with various creators. One such collaborator was Suresh, whom she reportedly met on Instagram nearly two years ago. Their online partnership soon turned personal, and over the course of a year and a half, the two began appearing together regularly in content despite growing concerns and objections from Raveena’s family and, notably, her husband.

According to reports by NDTV and the Times of India, Raveena’s husband, Praveen, a driver employed at a sand and gravel shop near Bhiwani, had long objected to his wife’s increasingly close association with Suresh. Praveen’s family had also raised strong objections to the nature of the videos and the time Raveena spent with Suresh, particularly as the pair began filming more frequently in Premnagar. But despite repeated disputes and arguments, Raveena continued pursuing her passion for content creation, steadily growing her Instagram following to over 34,000 followers.

Behind the scenes, tensions were escalating. Raveena and Praveen’s marriage, already strained by his alleged struggle with alcohol addiction, became increasingly volatile. The situation came to a head on the night of March 25, when Praveen reportedly returned home unexpectedly and caught Raveena and Suresh in a compromising position. An intense confrontation followed, culminating in tragedy.

As per police reports, during the heated altercation, Raveena and Suresh allegedly used a dupatta (a traditional stole) to strangle Praveen. The act, police believe, was not premeditated but occurred in the heat of the moment. Following the murder, Raveena reportedly attempted to mislead Praveen’s family, pretending not to know where he was or why he had gone missing.

However, her behavior raised suspicions, particularly after she failed to file a missing person’s complaint or show visible concern. Investigators said that she continued posting online content even as Praveen’s family frantically searched for him.

Later that same night, under the cover of darkness, Raveena and Suresh allegedly transported Praveen’s lifeless body on a motorcycle to a remote area approximately six kilometers away from their home. There, they dumped the body in a drain, possibly hoping it would go unnoticed or be attributed to a different cause. Authorities believe the body was discarded around 2:30 am.

The murder came to light days later when discrepancies in Raveena’s story, combined with circumstantial evidence and mounting pressure from Praveen’s family, prompted the police to intensify their investigation. Upon questioning, Raveena eventually confessed to the crime, leading officers to the spot where the body had been dumped. A case was filed, and both Raveena and Suresh were taken into custody.

According to law enforcement officials, both suspects are now being interrogated as forensic teams examine evidence recovered from the crime scene and the couple’s home. “It appears the act was driven by a mix of rage and panic after being caught,” said a senior police official on the condition of anonymity. “We are still investigating the timeline of events and looking into whether there was any prior planning involved.”

The case has triggered a wave of reactions, especially within the digital creator community, where Raveena was seen as a rising figure. Many of her followers expressed shock and disbelief, with some still reeling from the duality of her online persona and the grim reality of the crime.

The incident also raises broader concerns about the blurred lines between digital fame and real-life consequences. While social media has empowered thousands across India to explore creative careers and personal freedom, it has also, in some cases, amplified personal issues, strained relationships, and even, as seen here, spiraled into violence.

Raveena’s story is a stark example of how the curated online world can often mask deeper troubles behind the scenes. Her passion for content creation, while commendable in spirit, ultimately became a flashpoint in a marriage already under strain from addiction, financial instability, and emotional disconnect. The affair with Suresh, which began as a digital partnership, seems to have evolved into something far more complicated—and ultimately deadly.

Meanwhile, Praveen’s family is left grieving, grappling with the sudden and violent loss of their loved one. Locals in the area have also expressed shock, stating that while Raveena’s social media presence was known to some, no one imagined the situation at home was so dire.

The police have stated that further updates will be shared once the investigation concludes. Both Raveena and Suresh are expected to face murder charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and the case is likely to go to trial in the coming months.

As the public processes the disturbing nature of the crime, this case serves as a sobering reminder that behind carefully edited reels and influencer culture, real lives—and real tragedies—can unfold away from the camera’s frame.
