Karan Kundrra Slams ‘New Age Tabloids’ Over Fake Wedding News with Tejasswi Prakash: ‘Why Don’t You Just Call and Confirm?’

Actor Karan Kundrra has had enough of the endless rumors about his personal life—particularly those involving his relationship with fellow actor and girlfriend Tejasswi Prakash. Taking to social media on Friday evening, the actor delivered a sharp yet witty response to what he called the “new age tabloids” that continue to circulate false reports about his wedding, engagement, and everything in between.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Karan didn’t hold back. He directly addressed the repeated speculation around his relationship and slammed the media outlets for not doing the basic journalistic courtesy of fact-checking with him or his team before running such personal stories. “Dear new age tabloids, I’m sick of you marrying me off this year or next, announcing my engagement on a reality show, just coz we’re in Dubai,” he wrote, clearly frustrated with the constant intrusion into his private life.

Karan, who has been in a steady and public relationship with Tejasswi Prakash since their time together on Bigg Boss 15, pointed out that the media frenzy around their relationship has reached an excessive level. From wedding rumors to engagement announcements, and even speculative reports about family planning, the couple has been under a constant spotlight—often for things they haven’t said or done.

“I understand it gives you a lot of numbers, and it’s all about that these days apparently,” he continued in his post. “But to most of you, me or my agent are just a phone call away… why don’t you just call and confirm?”

In a mix of sarcasm and sincerity, Karan called out the desperation for clicks and engagement that often leads outlets to prioritize speed and sensationalism over truth. He made it clear that while he understands the media’s need for content, there are limits, and those limits are being crossed.

Adding a touch of humor to his otherwise serious message, the actor wrote in Hindi, “Abhi thoda zyaada ho raha hai na?” (Isn’t it getting a bit too much now?). He then jokingly requested that he be allowed the courtesy of announcing his own life events.

Meri shaadi/engagement/roka/bacha/breakup/midlife crisis mein khud announce kar loon please, he added, which translates to: “Can I please be the one to announce my wedding, engagement, baby, breakup, or midlife crisis myself?” His tweet ended on a lighter note with emojis including folded hands, a salute, a red heart, and a kissing face—perhaps a nod to keeping the peace, despite the frustration.

This isn’t the first time Karan and Tejasswi have found themselves at the center of speculative stories. Ever since the duo fell in love on national television, their every move—be it a vacation, a public appearance, or even a cryptic social media post—has been dissected and interpreted by both fans and the press. While the couple has occasionally played along with the speculation, often teasing fans in good humor, this time Karan decided to draw a line.

The reaction from fans has been largely supportive. Many applauded Karan for taking a stand and calling out the increasing tendency of digital media platforms to run with unverified information. Some even echoed his frustration, commenting that celebrities deserve the right to share important life updates on their own terms.

On the flip side, others pointed out the double-edged sword of fame—arguing that being in the public eye, especially as part of a high-profile celebrity couple, inevitably comes with intense scrutiny and rumor mills.

Despite the noise, Karan and Tejasswi have maintained a strong and steady bond, frequently sharing sweet glimpses of their time together on Instagram. Whether they’re traveling, attending events, or simply goofing around, the couple enjoys a massive fan following that’s deeply invested in their journey.

Karan’s candid note serves as a reminder of the evolving media landscape, where headlines often prioritize virality over accuracy. His message wasn’t just a personal appeal but a broader call for more responsible journalism—one where a quick phone call or confirmation could go a long way in preserving both truth and trust.

Until the day he decides to say “I do,” it seems Karan would prefer to keep the wedding bells out of the headlines—and firmly in his own hands.
