The Union Cabinet approved the ‘One Nation, One Election‘ Bill on Thursday, with plans to introduce it during the ongoing Winter session of Parliament, according to sources. The bill will be sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for further review. Holding simultaneous elections is a priority for the government. Earlier in September, the Cabinet had endorsed the proposal based on a report from a high-level committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind.
