Manjeet Kaur Death: Chandigarh Influencer Dies After Alleged Abduction and Burning

Chandigarh influencer Manjeet Kaur, 28, died at PGIMER after an alleged abduction, assault and burning in Morinda. Police have registered a murder case.

Punjabi social media influencer Manjeet Kaur, 28, died at PGIMER Chandigarh on August 26. She had been undergoing treatment for severe burn injuries for several weeks.

According to her mother’s complaint, Kaur was allegedly abducted from Sector 34, Chandigarh, on the intervening night of July 3 and 4. Two acquaintances allegedly called her to the area before taking her away in a car.

What happened to Manjeet Kaur

The complaint states that Kaur was taken towards Morinda in Punjab. She was allegedly assaulted, tied to a tree and set on fire in a forested area.

An acquaintance reportedly found her after the attack and helped put out the flames. She was first taken to a hospital in Morinda. She was later shifted to Mohali before being referred to PGIMER Chandigarh.

Kaur remained unconscious for several weeks during treatment. She reportedly regained consciousness on August 5 and told her family about the alleged incident. Her condition later deteriorated.

Police register kidnapping and murder case

After Kaur’s death, police registered a case of kidnapping and murder following her mother’s complaint. Two people identified as Shubhi and Pinda were named in the FIR.

Police have been conducting raids to locate the two suspects. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage along the route between Chandigarh and Morinda.
