A fresh CCTV video has captured the moment a five-storey PG building collapsed in Delhi’s Satya Niketan. The footage also shows a man running to safety seconds before the structure came down.
The Satya Niketan PG building collapse happened on Sunday afternoon near Delhi University’s South Campus. The building was being used as a student accommodation and had repair work underway in the basement.
At least six people have died in the incident, while several others were rescued from the debris. Rescue teams continued their search operation on Monday as authorities worked to locate anyone still trapped.

CCTV Captures Man Running To Safety
The CCTV footage was recorded from across the road. It shows a man sitting near a roadside shop shortly before the building suddenly began collapsing.
He appears to notice the structure giving way and immediately runs away. Within seconds, the building crashes down and thick cloud of dust covers the area.
The footage highlights how quickly five-storey structure failed. People nearby can also be seen moving away as debris spreads across the road.
Six People Dead, Rescue Operation Continues
The death toll from the collapse has risen to six. Officials said rescue teams have pulled several people from rubble, with some victims taken to hospitals for treatment.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force, Delhi Fire Service and Delhi Police remain involved. Heavy machinery is being used carefully to remove debris from the collapsed structure.
The building reportedly housed Delhi University students. Officials are continuing to assess number of people who may have been inside when collapse occurred.
Repair Work Under Investigation
The building was reportedly around 40 to 50 years old. Police said repair work was underway in its basement when structure collapsed.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said excavation in the basement may have caused a pillar to shift. Other reports have also pointed to waterlogging and structural weaknesses as possible factors.
Authorities have not announced a final cause of the collapse. A probe has been ordered to establish what led to the structural failure.
